To pay our bills we work like everybody else :-). I am working through all enquiries but as a busy working mum with 6 Leos and 3 young children, there might be a delay in getting back to you.

PLEASE NOTE

Average price for a Leonberger puppy is £1600-2000, anybody asking for much higher price is cashing in on the current demand and their commitment to the breed and reasons for breeding in the first place can be questionable. Also, note each puppy costs the same to rear, there should be no difference in the price asked for a female or male puppy. Please for the future of the breed, do not support questionable breeding practices.

 

Asking for deposits to join a waiting list before the puppies are born is NOT a standard practice in the breed and can also be questionable as in Leonbergers we have a large number of bitches miss so mating a bitch is no guarantee on her delivering puppies few months later.

Paying a deposit on a puppy that is still just a twinkle on the daddy's eye, can mean a lengthy wait for next litter if the bitch does not get pregnant. Please spend your time in finding a right honest breeder and visit few breeders and their dogs.

 

Always check the parents have been health tested with acceptable results.

Any Leonberger that is being bred should have the following test results and close to the limits listed:

- Hips below 21 total

- Elbows 0 or 1

- Eyes Free of cataract and gonioscopy tested

- LPN1, LPN2, LPPN3 and LEMP result

By only purchasing from responsible breeders you will be supporting the future of the breed and good welfare standards for all of the Leonbergers. You will support all puppies to be born to have best possible start with health tested parents. You will also help fending off breeders breeding for money and at the same time, help in keeping a price of the breed at the level most people can afford to purchase one. Responsible breeders trying to keep the price of the puppies down at reasonable level is done for the love of the breed and nothing else.
